Tired all day, wired at night? Many people with insomnia feel exhausted during the day, only to find that their brain becomes alert, busy, or frustrated the moment they lie down. Over time, sleep can start to feel like something you have to chase, monitor, or “fix” — which often makes the cycle even more exhausting. I have been licensed since 2005 and have advanced training in CBT-I, ...

If you've been lying awake night after night, exhausted but unable to sleep, you already know that willpower and sleep hygiene tips aren't enough. Chronic insomnia has a way of becoming self-sustaining, the more you try to fix it, the worse it gets. CBT-I breaks that cycle by targeting the thoughts and behaviors that are keeping your sleep broken, without medication and without an indefinite course of treatment. Most of my clients with insomnia are high-functioning adults who have been managing poor sleep for months or years, often alongside anxiety or depression. They've tried everything they can think of on their own. What they haven't tried is a structured, evidence-based approach designed specifically for the way insomnia actually works. CBT-I is the gold-standard, first-line tre ...
